The courses start and finish at V5 Cycles in Flemington, NJ and travel through Hunterdon, Morris, and Somerset Counties.

The Full Course, at 111 miles long with 7300’ of climbing (according to RideWithGPS), it is a route that should make the adventurous quite happy.  The course has ca 43 miles of gravel/dirt roads, paths and trails (ca 39% of the course).

The Short(er) Course, is 86 miles long with 4700’ of climbing (according to RideWithGPS).  The course has ca 39 miles of gravel/dirt roads, paths and trails (ca 45% of the course).  The course splits from the long route at ca mile 37.5

Due to changes in the 2024 Full Course, there is a bailout option at ca mile 54, which would yield a total distance of ca 84 miles with 5000′ of climbing (according to RideWithGPS).  The course has ca 29 miles of gravel/dirt roads, paths and trails (ca 34% of the course).  It makes a fine course in and of itself, and is a viable alternative to the Short(er) Course; it has less gravel, but more climbing than the Short(er) Course.  This course skips all of the gravel roads in the Pottersville & Bedminster areas.

All Riders are welcome to switch to this course while out on route.  But Short(er) Course Riders will need to follow the Long Course from the Course Split at Mile 37.5 through the Oldwick General Store at Mile 53.8.

This ride is largely self-supported (like a Randonnée).

The courses will not be marked but we will provide cue sheets & GPS Data

Most of the unpaved roads and trails are suitable for bikes with wider tires; cyclocross and gravel bikes will do well.  Due to the washboarding this year, we recommend a minimum tire size of 35mm; wider may be better for you.  Both courses feature instances of single track on the Capoolong Trail, which have exposed rocks and roots.

We designed the courses to hit many well-placed stores and restaurants, where you can purchase food and beverages.   A Camelback or extra water bottles are highly suggested.  Due to 2 of the previously used stores/restaurants now being closed on Sundays this year, we hope to offer 1 small grab and go aid station (confirmation pending), and or some water/supply drops.

There will not be active SAG or Technical Support, but we are offering a Broom Wagon, in case you can’t make it back to the start/finish on your own.

This is a ride, and not a race, and the roads are open to normal vehicular traffic, so you are required to obey all rules of the road.
